Overview:
Orthopedic Residency Program Goals
Our goal is to improve the standard of clinic practice through education. We seek to provide our participants with a comprehensive model that integrates the latest evidence with hands-on training that has been shown to deliver better clinical outcomes consistently
Comprehensive Program Timing
- The program begins each January and runs for approximately 14 months, until the following February.
- Program applications should be submitted early if possible, but no later than September 9th, before program enrollment.
- The Orthopedic Board Certification exam (OCS) is typically taken in March, after completion of program
- Graduates are encouraged to become mentors following their graduation.
Curriculum Outline
- 1865 hours of clinical practice in an orthopedic outpatient clinical environment.
- 150 hours of one-on-one mentoring while treating patients.
- 120 hours of in-house live classroom and lab instruction.
- 12 hours of comprehensive psychomotor skills examinations.
- Discussion boards on a variety of key topics.
- Guided preparation for the OCS with partial exams and prep courses.

Minimal Eligibility Requirements For Acceptance Into The Program Include:
- Licensure as a Physical Therapist by the Physical Therapy Board Texas
- Comply with all Mission Physical Rehabilitation employment requirement
