Return to Work: Work Conditioning/ Work Hardening
Mission’s return to work programs are specifically designed to aid individuals in recovering and enhancing their capability to execute work-related tasks. Whether they have been injured on the job or aim to prevent workplace injuries, work conditioning, and hardening can be crucial resources. Our return-to-work programs emphasize strengthening and conditioning the muscles and joints necessary for specific work tasks.
Our comprehensive programs offer numerous benefits. Not only do they help regain strength and endurance but also improve flexibility, coordination, and overall functional abilities. Additionally, work conditioning can reduce the risk of re-injury and boost work productivity.
The duration of a work conditioning or hardening program varies based on specific needs and goals. Typically, the program can last a few weeks, up to a couple of months, with adjustments made according to your progress and the recommendations of your physical therapist.
At the beginning of the program, a comprehensive evaluation will be conducted of physical abilities and work tasks. Based on this assessment, a customized treatment plan will be developed to address the individual’s specific needs. This may include exercises, manual therapy, and functional activities that simulate work tasks. The work-hardening component also includes behavioral health treatment provided by a licensed counselor to address any barriers to recovery.
